Arbec is a private Canadian manufacturer of softwood lumber (in conjunction with an affiliate company) and OSB panels with production activities carried out through mills located in several locations within the province of Quebec and New Brunswick. Arbec's mills have an annual production capacity of softwood lumber of 700 Mmbf and OSB panels of 620 000 m3 (700mmsf).
Arbec owns 50% of Groupe Remabec, which is the largest woodlands operator in Quebec (annual harvest of 3M cubic meters). Remabec employs approximately 1200 people, including 715 directly through its 30 subsidiaries and its manufacturing division hardwood (3 plants). Arbec also owns 25% of Boisaco Inc, the owner of a 120 million bf lumber mill located in Sacré-Coeur, Québec.
Arbec is 100% owned by Jolina Capital Inc., the holding company of Mr. Lino Saputo. Jolina Capital Inc, also owns 50% of Boscus Inc., one of the biggest forest product wholesaler in Eastern Canada (± 1 Billon board feet/year) which markets and distributes products on North America and off-shore markets.
